| September 1921.[74] The Crawley family heads north, to Duneagle Castle in Scotland - the ancestral home of The MacClare family - to visit Lady Rose and her warring parents, Susan and Hugh ("Shrimpy"). Bates, Anna, Molesley, and O'Brien also make the trip. Gregson, the man who hired Lady Edith on at the newspaper, tells her that he is going to be in Scotland as well. After Edith informs her family of this Mary and Matthew disagree about Gregson's motives. Tom remains at Downton with baby Sybil. The staff looks forward to the approaching country fair, and Carson struggles to keep them concentrating on work. A new housemaid, Edna, joins the staff and is quickly fired after Mrs Hughes discovers her getting too close to Tom. Mrs Patmore becomes involved in a romance, but it does not last as she realises he is only interested in her cooking. At the country fair, the Downton staff win the tug of war. Jimmy is nearly robbed after winning money from betting, but is saved by Thomas. They later agree just to be friends. Lady Mary goes into labour early, rushing home to deliver her baby, a son. Matthew soon joins her to meet his heir. But on the way back to Downton, he is killed in a car accident.[75][76][77] | |||||||
Thank you so much for posting this! I've been waiting/wanting to watch this.
ReplyDeleteLoved it! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteLove your site! Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteHas something gone wrong with the link? I haven't been able to access the video.
ReplyDeleteIt's working fine on my end. Maybe log out and try again?
Deletesuch fun. missed the Holiday Special and tried another site, but it didn't work well. somehow found Simply June and there it is -- so easy to use. just what the doctor (midwife) ordered!
ReplyDeleteWhat! The very last minute of the Christmas special is missing! Ahhhhh!
ReplyDeleteNo...No... NO!!!! Do I dare ask when Season 4 starts?
ReplyDeleteFall of 2013. Seems soooo far away!
DeleteI know, right???? Season 4 will be in the Fall in the UK and next January in the US or here on June's awesome blog! :-)
Deletemaybe Bransen and Edith will get together in the long run (after she's finished her nonsense with the married bounder); men have married their late wife's sisters in the olden days. The baby scene in the hospital with Mary & Matthew in the was beautiful (made me cry), even more stunning than their wedding; what is the baby's name, I wonder; glad Mrs. Hughes fired the forward maid. Loved Mr Mosely's tipsy joy /highland fling. On to Season Four!
ReplyDeleteI so agree on the scene with Mary and Matthew, I FELT the joy it was so real!! :-)
DeleteAlso, I see season 4 will begin in the Fall in the UK and Jan 2014 in the US, but will it be available here with the UK schedule in Fall?? It's going to be so hard to wait :-(
I wonder that Rose will be a spirited match for Branson!
DeleteI loved Mosely too! I have big hopes for season four!
ReplyDeleteSeason 3 seemed terribly depressing! My, how could Matthew leave the show? They were SO happy together! I'm so sad. I have to go cry in my pillow now.
ReplyDeleteThank you for uploading these and sharing!
haha! I know exactly how you feel! Plan on a good couple of days of mourning.
DeleteSo very sad wasn't it! And they were just soooo happy with their new little son and heir, And Mary will never get to be the Countess .. just the mother of the next Earl. She'll be just known as "Lady Mary, Mrs Crawley".
ReplyDeleteHow could they write him out so definitively !! Surely, they could have put him in a coma or something … until he (the actor, Dan Stevens) gets that Broadway business out of his system !!! He was very unfair to all us lovers of Downton Abbey.
yes--I totally agree--Matthew was unfair to us lovers of Downton--how dare he leave
DeleteWhy is Mrs. O'brian called Mrs. Grantham in the christmas special? I'm confused. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWhen traveling and staying at a different estate, the visiting staff is called by the last name of the guest they serve/are employed by. So they know who goes with who.
DeleteSo happy to have been able to watch all of the seasons of Downton Abbey here on SJ. The show certainly has been giving my emotions a workout! Curses on Dan Stevens for ditching the show. Waiting for the next season is going to be a tough one for me - with every episode I would forget about my issues and escape to England to frolic with the wealthy. This will be a lesson in patience, ugh.
ReplyDeleteThey should have just recast the role! I'm so disappointed that they chose to write him out that way! Boo to you Julian Fellowes! ;(
ReplyDeleteI think so too--they could have found a replacement for Matthew-like they used to do on soap operas here--someone just as handsome
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, thanks for posting these videos!!! I wasn't able to see more than 8 minutes of the Christmas episode, though; the video stopped there and seems only to be 8 minutes long. Any suggestions on where I can watch the whole thing?
ReplyDeleteIt's working just fine on my end. Try refreshing your link or restarting your computer.
DeleteThank you so much for posting the episodes online! I am a brand new fan of the show - started this weekend and have now finished all 3 seasons! I don't know how I'll manage to wait until Season 4! My emotions have been on such a roller coaster while watching all the episodes - great show!
ReplyDeleteWould really appreciate the fact that you have this on your website more if you didn't have the spoilers for the show. Please don't post a recap of what happens in the episode. Too bad....
