Just DON'T DO IT! It usually ends badly for the messenger!!

I think I am sick.  I hate being sick.  I think I have the flu.  I hate having the flu.  I really hate getting sick when I have planned on getting a lot of things done but end up getting nothing done instead.

There are only a handful of things that can really annoy me as much as being sick with the flu, but just off the top of my head, here's one of those things:   I don't like someone else, like a friend or family member, getting in between a couple and their relationship. 

Just DON'T DO IT!  It usually ends badly for the messenger. 

Don't take sides because the couple usually work things out with each other, but not with you.  So, when they are all happy and in love again, you are still thinking how terrible the last fight was and you have most likely taken a side.  Then, when you say something you get the "please don't talk that way  about my true love" speech.  So, just smile and nod and give advice only when it is ask for.  Then shut up and let it go unless that same person asks you again.  The exception to this rule is if you love someone and you feel that the advice or help you are giving is so important that it is worth the risk of getting this person upset with you.

And with that, I am going to lay down, try not to throw up again and stare at the lovely flowers my husband brought home to me today.  And to that person who tried to get in between us, come on now, this is not our first rodeo!  Just like with Darla and Alfalfa, we are happy by the end of the next scene and then stronger than ever.    Please take the flowers as a good sign that things are fine and we survived your verbal torpedo.
